Our 2016 Denier-Handal Petite Sirah is full bodied and rich in flavor. It is well-balanced and exhibits the classic varietal characteristics of Petite Sirah. Much like our 2014, the 2016 has a deep purple hue. The aromas are of blackberries, cassis and black pepper. The finish is earthy, deep and rich. Venturi Petite Sirah grapes never disappoint and this vintage is no exception.
These grapes are organically grown and dry farmed on soils of rocky, medium clay. It is the dry farming that brings intensity to this beautiful wine. Cold soaked then fermented in open topped tanks with manual punch downs daily. Aged 25 months in new and neutral American and French barrels.
